Devil Made Mother Cannibalize Child
July 28, 2009 by Brandon | 3 Comments
Apparently Satan has a copy of A Modest Proposal, because a San Antonio mother stands accused of killing her newborn child with a steak knife, gutting him, skinning him, and apparently ingesting pieces of the body, claiming the devil made her do it.
Sounds like Grade A crazy to me.
Of course, as I’ve said before, I always find it interesting that horrific supernatural claims are always looked at as being crazy, yet people write and buy books on how they were visited by angels, or had near-death experiences and those are called “inspirational.”
As the great Dr. House said, “Isn’t it interesting… religious behavior is so close to being crazy that we can’t tell them apart.”
Of course, I’m not about to suggest that the lady did this because she was religious. I just think it’s amusing. Well, about as amusing as one can find a story of a mother murdering her newborn and eating it.
Hey, that reminds me of a joke. What’s worse than a dead baby? A baby buried under a pile of dead babies, eating its way out.
Hm. Is that in poor… taste?

A Lack Of Confidence
July 22, 2009 by Brandon | 9 Comments
It was once said that a church steeple with a lightning rod on top shows a little lack of confidence.
The same can now be said about some churches withholding communion wine to stop the spread of swine flu.
The Archdiocese of Liverpool, which represents the Catholic church in Liverpool, said yesterday that some churches had taken the precaution but added that it was a decision made by individual churches, following its guidance, and they had not told churches what to do or banned wine-giving from services.
The Anglican church in Liverpool has taken similar steps. Stuart Haynes, media manager for the Diocese of Liverpool, said: “At this stage the bishop has not instructed churches in the diocese to withhold the communion cup but some parishes may consider that precaution to be prudent.”
Such precautions aren’t limited to just the Anglican church, either. Oh no. The big cheese itself, the Roman Catholic Church, has also made efforts to prevent the spread of the dreaded N1H1 by not placing communion wafers on people’s tongues.
So one might ask why I’m mocking these people, because certainly I don’t disagree that these precautions are indeed prudent. But it reeks of hypocracy.
Let’s be honest here, we’re talking about a religious sacrament that’s supposedly the blood of a deity that made himself into human form so that he could sacrifice himself to himself and rise from the dead on the third day to ascend into heaven. A deity that, as the story goes, healed sick people and said that his followers could also heal. This is furthermore something that said deity expects you to take part in. So saying you believe all this, it makes me wonder why you would ever think it’d be possible for you to get sick by partaking in it.

Not What You’re Expecting
July 16, 2009 by Brandon | 8 Comments
A homeowners association in a Florida community recently asked a resident to remove a cross that sits above their garage. The cross stands roughly 14.5 inches tall which is just a bit too big for the HOA.
But they decided to change their minds and are going to allow the family who lives there to keep the cross.
Frankly, I don’t care a bit about any of this. This isn’t what caught my attention. What caught my attention was a statement provided by the mother of the family living at the home with the cross.
The family erected the off-white vintage-style cross three years ago, when their daughter Taylor underwent her sixth and final surgery to treat an ear tumor.
“It’s symbolic to us,” said Taylor’s mother, Lori Bushing. “God is the one watching over her.”
This right here is what I’m talking about. Ignorant people like this dullard, who praise God instead of the doctors who spent years in school, the ones who have really saved her daughter’s life and have been watching over her.
It makes me sick.

NY Bishop Arrested For Diddling Kiddies
July 16, 2009 by Brandon | Leave a Comment
So there really isn’t a whole lot to say about this other than the obvious, so I’m just going to quote the entire article since it’s so short.
MINEOLA, N.Y. – A Long Island bishop who is part of a Roman Catholic splinter group has been arrested on charges he sexually abused a teenager.
Dennis McCormack of Massapequa, who’s 41, pleaded not guilty Thursday at his arraignment on charges of committing a criminal sex act and endangering the welfare of a child. He was arrested Wednesday.
McCormack describes himself on a Web site as the founder of the Society of the Immaculata. He performs Mass at a local American Legion hall.
He was ordered held on $150,000 bond. He was represented by an attorney from Legal Aid, which has a policy of not commenting on pending cases.
Nassau County Police do not believe McCormack is affiliated with the Diocese of Rockville Centre. A diocesan spokesman did not immediately return a call for comment.
If only there were some benevolent being that protected the children, that could see these things before they happened and have the power to stop it…

What is Fractal Wrongness?
The state of being wrong at every conceivable scale of resolution. That is, from a distance, a fractally wrong person's worldview is incorrect; and furthermore, if you zoom in on any small part of that person's worldview, that part is just as wrong as the whole worldview.
